Dr. Christopher Kelly is a chiropractor and the owner of Kelly Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Centre. He attended the university of Windsor and obtained a bachelor of Human Kinetics with honours designation while also completing their co-op program. The co-op program allowed him to gain experience in the field of rehabilitation and reassured him that his career path was indeed the correct path. With his reassurance, he attended the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto for his four0year Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree. In his Final year in Toronto, Dr. Kelly learned how to safely and effectively use the art of acupuncture by using his in-depth knowledge of human anatomy. He also has a certificate with the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) which allows him to have a deep understanding of how the human body functions during a golf swing and how that can translate to injury.

Dr. Kelly uses an evidence-based, patient-centred approach to care. He is able to treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions in all regions of the body. He values the benefits of manual care but understands the importance of rehabilitation so that the probability of injury reoccurrence can be greatly reduced. Rehab exercises are included in all treatment plans to promote stability and controlled movements in an increased range of motion. Dr. Kelly additionally encourages people to be proactive instead of reactive to injury. This idea can be referred to as “prehab”, where a patient performs exercises that are beneficial to their individual needs. As an example, a basketball player increasing balance and foot-control so they reduce the risk of ankle sprains. However, prehab is not just for athletes, it is for everyone. An alternative illustration, the aging population can use balance and a variety of leg exercises to decrease the risk of falls and maintain bone density.

Dr. Kelly was born and raised in St. Thomas. He played a wide range of sports at a competitive level including hockey, football, golf, soccer, basketball and volleyball. He remains active still as he values the benefits of exercise. He is engaged to his beautiful fiancé Deanna and has a black lab, who you may see at the clinic from time to time.
